Permaculture Ecoforestry

In this 11 day hands-on workshop, you will be transforming a scrubby, third growth forest into an edible and productive multi-story landscape. We’ll use a wide variety of hand tools and provide chainsaw opportunities. We will thin, prune and plant for increased commercial timber harvest, increased food production, coppice firewood and building materials. This 2 acre project, within 365 acres of Mountain Homestead’s temperate coastal rainforest, will include site evaluation, forest resource evaluation, EcoForestry principles and Permaculture Design! Expect to work hard, physically, up to 8 hours a day. However, the course is geared towards beginners – no forest experience required. Course is limited to 6-8 participants and costs $550.
