Tuition: free

Come get muddy with us, learn about clay plaster, and help the Petitt Family build their dream straw bale home.

In this workparty, you will get hands-on (and plenty dirty!) learning about nontoxic, low embodied-energy, natural plaster by mixing and applying it to the straw bale walls of the Petitt Family’s new home. We will be using a combination of site soil and locally sourced soil to create the clay plaster base coat, which will be hand-applied. This workparty will be focused on completing the exterior base coat and beginning to detail for the second coat.

This workparty is FREE and open to all skill levels & abilities, but space is limited and registration is required. To register, follow this link http://www.simpleconstruct.net/?workparty-registration,45 or go to www.simpleconstruct.net

  • Hi,
I would like to learn techniques like this and help all. I am often in the Oceanside/Vista area. I assume it is in that area. Is this true? Anyway, email me details. I took a permaculture class and have a number of related projects, etc. I might even be able to work 2 days, depending on my schedule and if I can stay overnight there, etc.
    Towards sustainability,
    Best,
    Dennis Pilien
